Dear friends,
This week, the President released to Congress his annual budget, which recommends eliminating funding for public media. Specifically, the budget proposes to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which distributes critical seed funding to PBS SoCal and other public television and radio stations across Southern California and the country. This funding represents just .01% of the federal budget.
The loss of federal funding could have a devastating impact on the ability of local public television and radio stations to bring you our valued programming and services.
We need your help. Please raise your voice in support of important federal funding for public media. And please visit Protect My Public Media to learn why the federal investment in public radio and television is essential, and how you can help protect it.
We’ve saved funding before, and we must do it again starting today.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
-Andrew Russell
