Lark Creek, a restaurant empire that began in 1989 at a place called Larkspur, CA (near San Francisco) and grew to become a dozen-strong restaurant conglomerate in NoCal is now ready to open its first venture in SoCal–at Newport Beach's Fashion Island, to be exact.
It will be located in what I believe was the old Daily Grill spot below Island Cinema. And it opens next week, Monday, August 5 with dinner service. Lunch service will follow beginning August 13.
What's on the menu? Here's what the press release highlights for now:
]
Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho with cucumber sorbet and fennel pollen; White Shrimp Ceviche with avocado, toy box tomato, cilantro, habanero, and lime, and accompanied by plantain chips; Wild King Salmon with saffron and yellow bell pepper broth, poached baby fennel, and olive tapenade; almond wood-grilled steaks like the “1855” New York Strip; and vegetable-centric sides like Grilled Summer Corn with fava beans. Dessert includes Lark Creek's signature Butterscotch Pudding and a Nectarine Blueberry Crisp.
