Another Cajun crawfish/crab/shrimp boil joint opened recently in Garden Grove, which makes it the umpteenth Cajun crawfish/crab/shrimp boil joint to open in Garden Grove.
Before this one gets lost in the jumble, let's talk about the name. It's called “Dang! Crabs”, which sounds like something you'd say after an unfortunate diagnosis at the clinic.
But more interesting than the hilarious and catchy title is that their specialty isn't even
crab: it's charbroiled oysters topped with garlic, butter, herbs, and cheeses. In fact, even though they're essentially
vying for a piece of The Boiling Crab action, they're at the same time
trying to distance themselves from the whole sauce-soaked shellfish
game.

According to their menu, they offer dry seasoning on their seafood boils rather than the wet ones The Boiling Crab has made its calling card. Read below that section, however, and it appears the restaurant concedes that they must give the public what it craves: they list the standard saucing options we're all now familiar with, entitling it “If You Must Have Sauce.”
I just wish they'd said like this: “Dang It! You Still Want Sauce?”
