Orange County’s prized Viet Film Fest is seeking entries for its three-day October festival, which showcases films by anyone of Vietnamese descent or about Vietnamese people or culture.
Filmmakers who’ve produced feature-length, shorts, documentaries, narratives, experimental and animation are encouraged to apply by April 30 (for an early bird lower entry fee) but no later than May 15.
“We are proud to be a central platform for filmmakers of Vietnamese descent to tell their stories the way they want them to be told,” stated officials with the non-profit Vietnamese American Arts & Letters Association (VAALA), which created the festival in 2003. “Viet Film Fest welcomes your support in our collaborative project to use cinema as a tool for spotlighting our diversity of voices.”
This festival, the largest of its kind in the world, is set for Oct. 11-13 at the AMC Orange 30.
Awards will be given for top films in various categories.
