Hardest lesson you've learned:
You can't always wait for an opportunity to arise; you have to make your own opportunities.
Tell us something most people don't know about you.
I play a pretty mean game of 8-ball. Billiards was my elective class of choice at the University of Oregon.

Where did you grow up, and where's home these days?
I grew up in Bend, Oregon, which is Central Oregon. The home of Mt. Bachelor ski and snowboard resort. I've been splitting my time between Dana Point and Los Angeles, but my fiancee, daughter and I will be moving full-time to Laguna Niguel in June.
What's your favorite childhood memory?
Christmastime in Bend with my extended family. We had several Christmas mornings growing up that were straight out of the movies. A layer of snow on the ground, the amazing smells of holiday food and my sister and I surprised by the perfect gift from Santa.
Last thing you looked up online:
I looked up the name of the movie I watched last. My short-term memory isn't the greatest these days.
Last movie watched; how was it?
The last movie I watched was Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal. Jake's performance was quite amazing. I enjoyed it. However, the film is a little bit disturbing at times. Any movie that makes you think or feel has done its job, in my opinion.
What turns you on– creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Creatively, whenever there is a problem to be solved. My parents told me I should be an engineer when I was a kid because I was always tinkering and fixing things. Spiritually, the human spirit and all the amazing stories of overcoming hardship. Reading great books and watching inspiring movies light me up with emotion. When I see other people achieving their dreams or overcoming an enormous obstacle I get inspired. I love to connect with people who share the same passion for life and constantly strive for something greater.
Do you have any skills that are not food-related?
For the last 13 years I've been working as an actor. While in college, I discovered I had a passsion for filmmaking and theater. I have worked in several independent films, commericals, and some theatre in Los Angteles. I'm also a car fanantic and a bit of a grease monkey.
You have a whole day to yourself; what do you do?
Canyon or trail hike in the morning, an acai bowl for lunch, head to the beach to kick back and relax with a good book, then a light dinner and off to the movie theater to watch the latest sci-fi thriller (or a good heist film will do).
What would you be doing if you weren't in this business?
I'd be a full-time actor, and in my dreams a race car driver on the side.
