Aliens

Unlike her big-titted action girl counterparts in DC, Marvel and other fantasy realms, Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley was not about bouncing and misbehaving. In fact, as the lone survivor of a nasty reptilian suckfest, Ellen Ripley was anything but enthusiastic about getting slimed again. James Cameron had other ideas, however, and his knack for writing sentient badass babes and directing insanely clever action sequences is what makes Aliens one of the best—and scariest—thrillers in cinematic history, or in this case, herstory. Yes, it’s a ladies game all the way with Weaver battling the Alien Queen for little girl lost Newt—and with no small assistance from the most beloved dyke ever to appear on screen, Pvt. Vasquez. Weaver was nominated for an Oscar, of course, and that along with the fact that the film grossed almost five times its budget makes it abundantly clear why studios stopped making female action movies. Up next, The Expendables 8: Geriatrics Gunning.
