Antemasque

Antemasque is Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala from At The Drive-In, the Mars Volta and many more fearlessly committed visionary exploits— remember when the Omar Rodríguez-López Group made an album with Damo Suzuki, the most fearsome singer that prog legends Can ever possessed? (And of course there was De Facto, where Cedric and Omar first met Ikey Owens—a crucial moment in their history.) Now ANTEMASQUE is their full-barrel full-concept prog-punk-psych outfit, where they deliver performative innovation with relentless intensity and velocity—put simply, it shreds, but it’ll make you think, too. With support from the just-as-powerful Le Butcherettes, who are heading for the limits of rock in their own way, and who recruited Iggy Pop to help (for the unsettling song “La Uva”) on their most recent album.
