Burn This

In the 1987 hit Broadway and London runs, the ever-edgy John Malkovich scorched. Little wonder, with lines such as: “I mean no personal disparagement of the neighborhood in which you live, honey, but this street’s dying of crotch rot.” Coke-snorting and hyperactive, Pale (anything but) is here to collect the effects of his gay younger brother, who drowned with his partner in a boating accident. Menacing, profane and dangerous, yet strangely sensitive, Pale plays havoc with the lives of his sibling’s friends. Penned by by Pulitzer winner Lanford Wilson (Hot l Baltimore, Fifth of July), Burn This was hailed by Newsweek as “the highest voltage.” Escape your domicile; get electrified.
