CRSSD Fest Allows EDM and Live Music Fans to Bond Over Beats

Downtown San Diego will be the hottest spot in SoCal this weekend as another installment of  CRSSD Festival rolls into town. Began in Spring 2011, CRSSD explore the intersections of live and electronic music by establishing itself as a singular beacon for pushing boundaries with exciting live acts. Previous headliners include The Flaming Lips, Chromeo, Cashmere Cat, and Flume. CRSSD Spring 2018 edition will feature long-time returning headliners Empire of the Sun, Gorgon City, and Little Dragon.

For their second CRSSD appearance, Empire of the Sun promises another amazing experience, performing fan-favorites like “High and Low”, We Are the People”, “Walking On A Dream”, and latest new single, “Way to Go”. Little Dragon will also be performing new music among their catalog of hits as well including their latest single, “Sway Daisy”.

Among the 50 live performers on the bill, the lineup features well-known award-winning talents like Bonobo, Cirez D, Mark Knight, and Eli Brown, all performing across CRSSD ‘s three-staged set up, over a well-shaded grassy haven.

While the headliners provide the sold-out box-office draw, CRSSD Festival is best known for it’s show-stealing performances from newly discovered underground sensations like this year’s EDM DJs MK, Shiba San, and LA-based producer, Gryfinn.

“Festivals tend to bring out the most energy from within me,” Gryfinn says. “So I feel a huge wave of energy every time I go out. It’s so much fun to feel that energy of the crowd right when you hit the stage and to match that same energy back, it’s a huge adrenaline rush. It’s a surreal experience and one that never gets old.”

The San Diego fest is the perfect trial run for the Interscope Records recording artist who is scheduled to begin his residency at the popular nightclub Hakkasan in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I think it’s just a matter of bringing an exciting, fun show people can connect with,” he says. “Ideally, the people that come see the show at CRSSD enjoy the experience enough to come see a different but equally fun, DJ version of the show at Hakkasan this Spring/Summer.”

Festival sponsors supplying technical support and product giveaways include music streaming giants Pandora and Spotify, electronic brand Beatport, Splice, V-Moda, Roland, music publication MixMag Magazine, and luxury vodka brand Absolut ELYX. Coming from all over the world to attend, festivalgoers will experience the Southern California culture destination complete with picturesque sunsets, splash friendly fountains, offering of craft beer, full mixology program, and gourmet food vendors from San Diego’s best restaurants.

CRSSD will take place at the Waterfront Park in San Diego, California. The two-day festival kicks off Saturday, March 3rd ‘til Sunday, March 4th on the 1600 block of Pacific Highway.  The festival will run from Noon until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and resume at Noon until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. For official set list and showtimes, visit the official CRSSD Festival website: www.crssdfest.com. Tickets for the festival are officially sold out.
