Cinema Italiano: Cinema Paradiso, Sun. 7/15, 12:30 PM

Jul 15th • 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm • Bowers Museum

The Bowers Museum’s already molto dolce Italian cinema series further sweetens the deal, with an offer that’s too good to resist. Before screening possibly the most subversively romantic movie about film ever, they offer basic Italian language instruction to help you follow the smart, funny dialog of Giuseppe Tornatore’s instant classic and Academy Award-winning 1988 Cinema Paradiso. It’s a film about post-war politics, love, regret and the interrogation of a famous filmmaker’s consciousness upon his return to his Sicilian childhood, with artistic integrity and faithfulness at last rewarded. Arrive at 12:30 p.m. for instruction in conversational Italian, stay for instruction in life. Do stay for the film’s final famous kissing scene!
