Civil Rights, Culture and Community Identity at Anaheim Central Library

Feb 28th • 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm • Anaheim Central Library

The African American community has had a solid foundation in Orange County since the founding of the Second Baptist church in 1923. Director of Heritage Museum of Orange County, Kevin Cabrera, will share the growth of the community through the lens of three major themes: Civil Rights, Culture and Community Identity.

The Anaheim Public Library is one of 79 nonprofit organizations to receive the NEA Big Read grant. An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read aims to broaden our understanding of our world, our communities,
and ourselves through the joy of reading one book.
