For its first show of 2019, the Costa Mesa Playhouse presents Beth Henley’s award-winning dark comedy, “Crimes of the Heart” running January 25 -February 17, 2019.

When the three eccentric, dysfunctional, and disaster-prone Magrath sisters reunite during a family crisis, resentments, sexual transgressions, and the entire Southern gothic tradition unite to serve up a dramatic confection. Warm-hearted, irreverent, zany, and brilliantly imaginative, the Henley’s play teems with humanity and humor.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets for the first performance, Friday, January 25, are “pay what you will” with a suggested minimum of $10. Saturday, January 26 is the opening night Gala, including a post-show reception. Gala tickets are $25 general and $23 for students and seniors. For all other performances, tickets are $22 for general admission and $20 for students.
