EXHIBITION: Paintings by Salina Mendoza

Mar 2nd • 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm • 1888 Center

Salina Mendoza is debuting her “Wave” series where she has made large scale abstract geometric paintings using spray paint and acrylic paint markers. She explores various types of waves in life and writes stories about each piece individually. It’s her first completed series shown as a collection.

Salina Mendoza is an American artist whose work is associated with minimalism, hard-edge painting, and repetitive use of lines. Her work is inspired by uncomfortable emotions observed in the real world, brain vibrations, repetition, color, and mental health. She starts every piece without a destination in mind and upon completion, she writes a story about the emotions/feelings she felt while creating the piece or the emotions she felt from her environment.

Salina Mendoza is the 2019 Orange County Laureate. Throughout the year, Salina will help us connect, educate, and partner with our community to provide our diverse neighborhoods with creative and cultural opportunities.
