Haitus Kaiyote with MNDSGN

Oct 8th • 8:00 pm • The Observatory

Iconoclastic jazz, soul and hip hop group Hiatus Kaiyote are different in every sense of the word— and better off for it. Lead singer Nai Palm’s sultry vocals compliment her bandmates Paul Bender, Simon Mavin and Perrin Moss’ rhythmic, multi-instrumentalist energies, which combined make for a creatively avant garde genre called “future soul.” Having earned the praise of older and contemporary hitmakers like Taylor McFerrin and Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote are ready to forge their own path in making music that hints at what the future of R&B could be. Saying they’d blow the house down at any live show seems like an understatement; come out to their concert tonight at the Observatory and see what we mean.
