Gather the art lovers in your life and check out the latest exhibition at Golden West College Art Gallery. “Neoteric” is an avant garde wonderland filled with bright colors and dreamy structures. Featuring a variety of Southern California artists, the gallery creates a community of artistic mediums in order to shine a light on current underground art movements. A great deal of experimentation has gone into each piece encouraging a sense of rejection to the mainstream. These installations are specifically customized for the GWC Art Gallery which becomes an immersive space of exploration. Tilting your perspective at every turn, “Neoteric” allows you to examine an outward view of the human experience.
“Neoteric” brings experimental practices in art together to celebrate color with avant-garde concepts to add energy and whimsy to the practice of art making. This exhibition combines the genius of local Southern California fiber artists, photographers, sculptors, illustrators, designers, and painters to explore new media through their experimental practices. This exhibition highlights the compelling underground art movements taking place all around us yet seemingly hidden from mainstream art world.
Exhibiting artists include Mimi Haddon, Sarah Elisa Abramson, Andre Woodward, Olga Lah, Chris Natrop, Caesar Alzate Jr., The Threadwinners, Megan Lindeman, and Quinton Bemiller.
