The Orange County Organic Gardening Club focuses on organic edibles with education, gardening tips, techniques, and local resources. Speaker topics range from avocados to xeriscape and everything in between. The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through June in the Silo Building at Centennial Farm in the Orange County Fair & Events Center.
On Tuesday, January 8th, Nicholas Staddon will give us an Englishman’s view of the New American Garden, emphasizing the importance of the edible garden, container gardening and integrating edible plants into an existing landscape. He will also discuss a hand-picked selection of new and underused plants for our region. Nicholas Staddon has been working with plant breeders and professional Plant Explorers for the last 25 years, scouring the globe for new discoveries in the plant world.
The free event starts at 7:00 p.m. with light refreshments, and the program starts at 7:30 p.m. Drive through the main gate of the fairgrounds at 88 Fair Drive, turn left and park near the Silo Building.
