The Newport Harbor High School Alumni Association is thrilled to invite the public to the “Part of Water” Festival on Saturday May 18, 2019 in Newport Harbor High School’s Robert B. Wentz Theater.
This will be an exclusive Orange County engagement of Hunt House Pictures’ new film “Part of Water,” a tribute to fallen Newport Beach hero Ben Carlson and the dedicated Lifeguards who protect the California coast. There will be four showings at 12:30pm, 2:30 pm, 4:30pm, and 6:30pm. Each viewing will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers, the Ben Carlson Foundation, and NHHS alumni who worked alongside Ben.
Friends, families, and neighbors are invited to arrive early and stay after their show to enjoy the festival atmosphere. From 11:00am until 6:30pm, there will be food trucks including TK Burger, Sessions Deli, Banzai Bowls, and Massimo’s Pizza, and picnicking on the grass under the iconic NHHS tower. The whole family will enjoy booths set up by ocean-related educational organizations and non-profits like the Surfrider Foundation and the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, and local vendors like the Electric Bike Company and The Board Club. There will be an opportunity drawing, other entertainment, and a chance to visit the NHHS Heritage Hall museum.
Tickets are $30 for Priority Entrance and $20 for General Admission. A special price of $10 for Students and Children under 14 (accompanied by a parent as the film contains serious subject matter) is available for the first two showings at 12:00pm and 2:30pm. A generous portion of the proceeds will benefit both the Ben Carlson Foundation and the NHHS Alumni Association’s scholarship program. Parking is available in the school’s main lot on 15th Street, and the facilities are wheelchair accessible.
