We are proud to work alongside a dedicated team of students from California State University, Fullerton’s Capstone Comm 464 Public Relations Managementclass in presenting a very special screening of Richard Linklater’s endearing 2003 comedy, School of Rock!
Your donated food is your ticket to the film! Instead of tickets, we are asking guests to bring a food item to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County – your food item is your ticket to the film, plus you’ll get a raffle ticket towards some fun prizes!
Plus – each food item donated will earn the donor an additional raffle ticket! You only need to bring one item to join us, watch the film, and get a raffle ticket, but the more you give, the more chances you get to win!
Jack Black earned a Golden Globe nomination for his explosive performance as Dewey Finn, a heavy metal-obsessed guitarist who finds himself entrusted with a class of elite elementary school students after he is kicked out of his band. At a complete loss for a lesson plan, Dewey makes it his goal to preach to them the gospel of The Who, Led Zeppelin, and AC/DC – with the ulterior motive of getting them to compete against his former band for a cash prize. Ultimately winning over the young minds, Dewey must still contend with the school’s stern Principal Mullins (Joan Cusack), the battle-of-the-bands’ promoter (Frank Whaley), and not least, his identity-deprived roomie Ned (Mike White) and Ned’s nosy girlfriend (Sarah Silverman) – as well as his increasing affection for the students.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County encourage donations of foods that are reduced in sodium, sugar or fat and contain no trans fatty acids. For a list of items recommended and needed, visit http://thefridacinema.org/
