Jo Giese is an award-winning radio journalist, author, and former TV and radio reporter. As a special correspondent, she was part of the Peabody Award winning team at Marketplace, the popular public radio business show. She has contributed to Ira Glass’s “This American Life” radio show and is the author of “A Woman’s Path” (St. Martin’s Press) and “The Good Food Compendium” (Doubleday). Giese has written for scores of publications, including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Vogue, LA Weekly, European Travel & Life, and The Malibu Times.
For 25 years, the Literary Guild of Orange County has hosted almost 200 authors, fulfilling its mission “to celebrate the written word by linking the reading community with women authors.” In honor of this milestone, three authors are returning to discuss their newest projects.
They are as follows:
• Jo Giese – author of “Never Sit if You Can Dance”
• Tara Conklin – author of “The Last Romantics”
• Ciji Ware – author of “That Spring in Paris”
In addition, the Literary Guild will announce the recipient of its $1,000 scholarship to a student from one of Orange County’s local community college writing programs.
