Urinetown

In Greg Kotis' and Mark Hollmann's Tony-winning satirical musical, a 20-year drought has resulted in the severe regulation of urinating by mega-corporation Urine Good Company (UGC). Residents must pay money to relieve themselves at filthy public amenities—those who don't and, say, take a piss in a parking lot, are arrested and sent to Urinetown, a correctional facility, never to be heard from again. Spoiler alert: there is no Urinetown, they're just killing everyone. Will lovebirds Bobby Strong and Hope Caldwell save the day and reverse the tragic effects of the drought so the townsfolk can relieve themselves freely? Spoiler alert: They don't. This is a story about urine. You want a happy ending, go see The Lion King.

Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 29. Continues through Oct. 8, 2011
