Flier of the Week: Benefit show for Japan at Alex's Bar

Ever since the major catastrophe in Japan, people have been wondering how they can help the victims, who are just starting to put their lives back together again. For musicians, the best way to help is to put on a show and invite as many bands and DJ's as they can.

The event, put together by Frankie Alvaro, will be at Alex's Bar and promises a day full of music, booze and giveaways.
A slew of bands (over ten) are set to perform at the tiny bar starting at 3 p.m. and will feature acts such as garage/surf rockers The Black Apples, Psychedelic punkers Grand Elegance and mod rockers The New Fidelity.
As if the bands weren't enough, the front parking lot will be blocked for a vintage car, van, motorcycle and scooter show. Raffles will include gifts donated from Long Beach businesses.

The show is $10 with all of the proceeds going straight to a Japan relief disaster charity. Come support local bands for a good cause. That's your excuse for hanging out at a bar all day.
