Latino Heritage Festival

After celebrating Mexico's Independence Day last week, the folks over at the Museum of Latin American Art are doing their part to keep the festivities going strong. This Sunday is their annual Latino Heritage Festival, a family-friendly afternoon of arts, music and culture against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. Starting at noon, activities include a performance from Matalache Danzas del Peru (a peruvian dance group), children's storytime, face-painting, art workshops, craft vendors, and more. As the day progresses, enjoy docent tours of the museum's galleries, as well as worldly performances from Batala (an Afro-Braziliana band), Cambalache (a Son Jarocho group from Los Angeles) and Quitapenas (a tropical music ensemble). And to make the day seem even sweeter, the festival is free to get in. Feliz Domingo!
