National Theater Live: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

He likes maps, outer space and being on his own. He’s going to find out who killed the neighbor’s poodle. And lately, 15-year old Christopher, the unlikely hero of the unlikeliest bestselling mystery novel turned high-functioning multi-media award-winning play, pays a visit to OC via satellite before going on to Broadway. Simon Stephen’s necessarily kinetic and energetic stage adaptation of Mark Haddon’s novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, about the boy detective on the autism spectrum, arrives here on the big screen from the National Theater in London, a music, light and sound spectacle which engages the perspective of one special “special” kid and reintroduces to the rest of us the frailties and duplicity, joy and courage of what passes for normal.
