How's this for a last-second opportunity for young California filmmakers? Submit your film … gulp … today, cross your fingers and hope it gets selected for a film festival rolling in Santa Ana next Friday, Dec. 13.
It's the OCC Film Club—OCC as in Orange Coast College—semi-annual NGF Film Festival—NGF as in next generation filmmakers.
The club is dedicated to creating an easier networking atmosphere for student screenwriters, directors and other artists by presenting an evening of student-produced short films and documentaries on the big screen.
So, yeah, sorry about the short notice. You can still try submitting at the NGF Facebook page @OCCFILMCLUB.NGF.
It's not too short of notice for audience members, who'll get two chances to watch the truly great program: on Dec. 13 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. Either screening has the same ticket price ($7) and location (Frida Cinema in Santa Ana).
For more information, visit thefridacinema.org or email NGF FIlm Festival Coordinator Rodrigo Reyes at Ro************@ya***.com.
