Orange County Sherriff's Department Seeks Person of Interest in Fatal Hit and Run

The Orange County Sheriff's Department is interested in chatting with Mario Urbano Carrasco Martinez, but they say the 29-year-old Laguna Niguel man is nowhere to be found.

Martinez is the registered owner of a black,1998 Nissan Maxima believed to have mowed down 20-year-old Saddleback College student Carlos Eduardo Salas on September 7. Salas was skateboarding near the intersection of Golden Lantern and Marina Hills in Laguna Niguel when he was struck from behind by the Maxima, dragged 25 to 30 feet, and left for dead. The Maxima was later found unoccupied on Sea Glen
According to a September 29 sheriff's press release, Martinez has not returned home or shown up to work since the collision. A witness at the scene said the vehicle's driver appeared to be a Hispanic male in his mid 20's with neatly coifed hair.
