If you’re still holding on to those rotting pumpkins from Halloween, watching the third annual Pumpkin Launch at Cal State Fullerton may give you some inspiration for how to get rid of them. Teams of engineers and engineering students will showcase their homemade launching devices by firing pumpkins across the Titan football field. The event, hosted by the Discovery Science Center, will also have interactive science stations, including a chance to make a spud rocket or build your own catapult to send marshmallows flying. If you overload on hurling food products through the air, check out the medieval weapons demonstration and combat—you know, to further motivate the kiddies about history and science.
