Record Store Day's Black Friday Special Releases: Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys And More

Record Store Day is giving fans a few limited releases to tide them over until the annual April event. The event, which saw it's 30th anniversary this year, is dedicated to independent record retailers and supported by artists and fans alike. A handful of new records will be released on Nov. 25, in celebration of Black Friday.

“Back To Black Friday” will mostly release singles and box sets from classic rock icons such as the Beatles, Pete Townsend and the Rolling Stones.

A brand new box set, The Beatles- The Singles will be released
featuring four 7″ singles, a poster and an official Record Store Day
45rpm adapter. The track list is as follows: “Eleanor Rigby,” “Yellow
Submarine,” “Come Together,” “Something,” “Revolution,” “Hey Jude,” “Yes
It Is,” and “Ticket To Ride.”

The Rolling Stones will release an individually numbered 7″ vinyl of an unreleased track from the Some Girls sessions called, “No Spared Parts.” The other side has a remastered version of “Before They Make Me Run.”

A deluxe edition of the Beastie Boys' Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. It will include a 130 page hardcover book and DVD/Blu-ray copy of the short film Fight For Your Right Revisited. The film was released earlier this year and stars Seth Rogan, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride as the fab three along with half-a-zillion other cameos. The Spike Jonze-directed music video for Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win is also included.

Ryan Adams' will release a 7″ single of two demo tracks, “Do I
Wait” and “Darkness” recorded at Electric Ladyland Studios in New York
City.

Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings will release Soul Time! with 12 (mostly) unreleased tracks and re-releases from Daptone Gold and previous 45s.

John Lennon's John Lennon- Imagine- 40th Anniversary Box Set release
is comprised of six songs on white vinyl and a poster. It will include
outakes of “Imagine (Take One),” “Jealous Guy,” “Oh My Love,” “How Do
You Sleep,” “Baby Please Don't Go,” and “I Don't Want To Be A Soldier.”

Other notable Back to Black Friday releases include: The Black Keys (“Lonely Boy”/ “Run Right Back” vinyl), Dr. Dog (Dr. Dog 7″), Iron and Wine (89.9 FM KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic session LP/CD), Janis Joplin (The Classic LP Collection featuring Pearl, I Got Dem Kozmik Blues Again Mama and Big Brother and the Holding Company's Cheap Thrills and self-titled vinyls), Nirvana (all 10″ singles from Nevermind in a box set).
