Ruben Garcia Dies in Hospital From Friday Night Shooting in Anaheim

A 29-year-old Anaheim man who was shot with another man Friday night died Sunday morning at an Orange hospital, according to the county coroner.


Ruben Garcia was pronounced dead at 10:08 a.m. Sunday at UCI Medical Center, according to the coroner.

Anaheim Police responding to a call of shots fired found Garcia and another man suffering from gunshot wounds around 9:35 p.m. in the area of North Onondaga and West Neighbors avenues, which is a short walk away from Servite High School.

The pair were taken to UCI, although the unidentified man with Garcia sustained survivable injuries, according to Anaheim Police Detective Laura Lomeli. She said no arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
