San Clemente Micro-Brew Fest at Left Coast Brewing Co. THIS SATURDAY!!!

This Saturday, April 23, Left Coast Brewing Co. is hosting the 6th Annual San Clemente Micro-Brew Fest. Tasting begins at Noon for VIP ticket holders, with general admission at 1:00p.m. (pre-sale $35; at the door $40). Expect 15 craft breweries, from Ballast Point, Pizza Port, Cismontane, Noble Ale Works and hometown heroes Left Coast. Add some food trucks and live music and it’s a party! Proceeds will benefit the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce’s “Welcome Home Military Family Events.”

Haven’t been to Left Coast yet? It’s  a family-owned brewery, operating in the Spanish Village by the Sea since 2004. Owner John is usually there to give samples and great advice and information of all the beers. He’s very proud, and rightfully so, of the awards Left Coast has won—most recent laurel is a Silver Medal in Germany for their German-style Dortmunder. That winner, Del Mar St., is light but full of flavor with no aftertaste (ask John for a bowl of pretzels!)—perfect to sit back with as you watch the Angels or Ducks win a playoff game. JINX!

Other Left Coast beers to try this weekend: a Red Tide 7.1% ABV Belgian Style Red Ale with a combination of malt and hops that gives this beer a full flavor without being bitter, and a Barrel Aged Get in My Belly 13.1% ABV aged in Jack Daniel barrels. The latter, heavy ale has no subtlety at all, but that’s what makes it great: sweet but packs a punch,  it’s a perfect stout for Jack lovers

Left Coast is looking to open a tasting room somewhere in central Orange County (SanTana, hint, hint). Until then, visit an Oggi’s Pizza near you, since they brew the house beer—yeah!
