The Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society celebrated the 130th Birthday of the Dr. Willella Howe Waffle House, the 45th anniversary of the society and the 150th anniversary of Santa Ana on July 20th. The beautiful 1889 Victorian house located in Santa Ana was the home of one of the first female physicians in Orange County. Included in the festivities was a private luncheon for over 40 descendants of Dr. Willella and Alvin Howe, and her second husband Edson Waffle. Following the luncheon punch and birthday cake was served to the family, members of the society and the general public.
