The Pizza Underground

For those who don't know The Pizza Underground, let's break it down: hailing from New York, land of Warhol's Factory and The Velvet Underground, this five piece takes songs from Lou Reed's seminal sixties group and rework the lyrics into chic songs about pizza. Once you get past the novelty factor and realize its an actual earnest effort, songs like “I'm Waiting For The Pizza Man,” “Papa John Says,” and “I'm Beginning to Eat The Slice” are actually quite good, especially as the group takes up the jangly acoustics of the originals. Oh yeah, and did we mention one of the band members is former child star Maculay Culkin? There's very little music you can obtain of theirs online, so maybe its best you check out this group live when they play The Glass House tonight. As the song goes, take a bite of the wild slice and check em out.
