Top Five Hits: Pepperland Music in Orange

Here are the top five this week from Pepperland Music, 850 N. Tustin St. in Orange, (714) 639-0909.

This week's top seller is still the latest Jack White album, Blunderbuss, which came out over a month ago.

1. Jack White, Blunderbuss (Third Man)

Despite having come out over a month ago, Jack White's latest album is still a top seller at Pepperland Music, perhaps due to White's massive presence in bands like The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.

2. The Specials Self-titled (2 Tone)

The Specials, the British ska guys who have released seven studio albums in the over the past 33 years, are still selling strong in Orange County. Their debut self-titled album's always been a personal favorite.

3. Aerosmith, Rocks (Columbia)

The guys at Pepperland tell me that a lot of Aerosmith albums are still selling pretty well, which is awesome, but when I asked them what specific album they had no hesitation in saying that Rocks is the one to put down.

4. The Doors, Waiting for the Sun (Elektra)

“Oldie but goodie” may be a massive, glaring cliche, but for The Doors' third studio album, it is nothing but accurate. 44 years after its release, The Doors' Waiting for the Sun is still appearing on top five lists. How cool is that?

5. Pink Floyd, Animals (EMI)

Okay, this one should have come as a no-brainer. I mean come on, look at the Pepperland banner. At least one Pink Floyd is and always should be on this list. Again, the guys just tell me that a lot of Pink Floyd albums remain top sellers. Hearing these things always renews my faith in humanity. Keep it up, people.
