Wild Records' Young & Wild Weekender arrives today, consisting of wailing rockabilly vocalists and greasy-haired guitarists shredding in a fury of psychotic abandon. Among the biggest rock n' roll heavyweights appearing tonight, three acts have long-carried the Wild Records name across the US and Europe: Gizzelle, Luis Wildfire and Omar and the Stringboppers. Long time fans of the label will rejoice to see these favorites alongside new favorites like The Hurricanes and Texas Steve and the Tornadoes, and The Black Mambas, just to name a few. Beyond the 40-something bands, there'll be a photo booth, vendors, hair barbers and a dance competition for audiences to shake a tail feather to- and that's just day one. Come see it all happening tonight at Santa Ana's Observatory.
