“Deck the Hulls with Bows of Jolly” states this year's Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade—and after more than a century of flashy yachtsman-ship, we have to hand it to them, this is one heck of a parade. Every vessel from multi-million dollar yachts to kayaks to dinghies are welcome to don their brightest decorations, blast holiday tunes and sail the 14-mile loop. It's reported that past participants have spend upwards of 50K lighting up their boats—very nice boats, we'd imagine—and even the New York Times dubbed this parade “one of the top ten holiday happenings in the nation.” Grab a spot on the coast or make a reservation at one of the area's many waterfront restaurants, the Newport Harbor is about to be lit up like a jewelry store.
