One of our favorite Oscar categories, animated films somehow seem overlooked, though they’re probably the most deserving of an award—it takes way more effort to animate the subtle facial expressions of a cartoon than that of an almost-unnaturally flawless-faced actress (we’re looking at you, Sandra). These films, though not feature length, are up for your consideration at Regency South Coast Village, where the theater will be hosting mini-film fests all week, encouraging you to vote for your favorite. And the nominees are: French Roast by Fabrice O. Joubert, Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty by Nicky Phelan and Darragh O’Connell, The Lady and the Reaper by Javier Recio Gracia, Logorama by Nicolas Schmerkin and A Matter of Loaf and Death by Nick Park.
