It must be Flugtag! German for “Flying Day,” Red Bull’s Flugtag event is coming to Long Beach for the first time in its 19-year history. See 35 teams of aviation enthusiasts as they literally throw their contraptions off a 30 foot pier and hope to take flight. Competition is especially fierce right now; a new record was just set in July at the Minneapolis Flugtag, when Team Major Trouble and the Dirty Dixies soared a whopping 207 feet.
