In honor of the newly formed Laguna Bluebelt Coalition, a marine life and environmental activist organization, the Laguna Beach Film Society presents a series of documentaries focusing on the importance and urgency of ocean awareness. This session screens two passionate films: Transparentsea: The Desert Whale Recordings by Justin Krumb and Ode to California by Patrick Trefz. Transparentsea is about the travels of a creative, musical group of activists as they dedicate themselves to communicating our local coastal environmental concerns. The second film of the evening, Ode to California is a short, experimental, surreal doc about surfing in the wilderness. The directors of both films will be in attendance for a Q&A session after the screenings.
