I've heard people say that Asians are big this year, and as cringe-y as that makes me feel, I have to admit that even I'm going big on Asian desserts this years. For the past month, it's all been milk tea, brick toast, mochi ice cream, and my absolutely favorite from East Asia: Taiwanese shaved snow.

If you haven't tried it, you must because it's a revelatory experience. Ground down from flavored blocks of ice, the snow is as light and fluffy as you'd expect, maybe even more so. The mounds that you get are pretty, pretty tasty, and actually pretty not bad for you, seeing how you're eating mostly water instead of some kind of swirled around frozen cream.
My favorite's the green tea snow at Snow Station, but you can find them at your various Asian-American dessert shops around the county. Milk flavored snow is the standard, but there are enough flavors to satiate anyone. Top with your favorite accoutrement, and you've found the food that'll carry you through the rest of the summer.
