The first thing you need to know about the three-day-long Long Beach BBQ Festival is they have a whole section called “Rib Village,” and there’s no better destination out there for the ravenous carnivore, is there? (Except maybe Brisket City, if that actually exists somewhere.) For varying degrees of admission, festgoers can feast on a satisfying selection of BBQ-ed meats, a few of which are destined to win Best in Southern California Ribs, Sauce or the coveted People’s Choice Award—plus there’s live zydeco and country music to enhance the experience that much more. Park far away (never a problem in Long Beach!) so you can walk in hungry and bring a blanket so you can pass out in a chow coma in the nice cool grass.
