If there was an OC Dessert Hall of Fame–and the Orange County Fairgrounds should TOTALLY build a permanent exhibit to that, right?–the wagon wheel would be a charter member. You know what that is, even if you didn't know it had a name: a gargantuan danish as big as a Frisbee, spotted with fruit jelly atop a sea of custard, Offices usually do the futile mistake of leaving one in the lunch room with a knife, thinking workers will carefully slice off a bit. Nope: the results are a delicious disaster thanks to the grubby guys and gals over in the IT department.

The place to get your wagon wheels, of course, is French's Cupcake Bakery, not just because it can trace its lineage directly to the French family that brought their baking mastery from Ohio to OC, but because they're are the best. Not just do they sell the huge ones, there's also mini-ones that are like concentrated versions of heaven. Also, French's Cupcake Bakery is within walking distance of Hi-Time Wine Cellar, so pay a visit to both in the same day–a fine day in OC, indeed.
