UPDATE, MARCH 2, 5:10 P.M.: Two suspects were arrested in the slaying of Frederick Temple, 26, of Anaheim, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The suspects are identified as Noe Lezama, 25, of Anaheim, and Alfredo Quiroz, 25, of Garden Grove.
After Temple was found dead in the area of Dale and Lola avenues in Stanton on Tuesday afternoon, investigators from the sheriff’s Homicide Team and Gang Detail canvassed the neighborhood and nearby businesses for surveillance video and to conduct interviews. During the investigation, it was determined the shooting was preceded by a related shooting near Cerritos Avenue and Yana Drive, according to deputies, who found a gun believed to have been used in the shootings. Further investigation led to search warrants being served and the arrests. Deputies are still trying to determine whether Temple, Lezama, Quiroz or all three can be tied to gangs. Both suspects were booked on suspicion of murder and are being held on $1 million bail. They are expected to appear in court on Friday. Booking photos and surveillance footage are not be released at this time.
ORIGINAL POST, MARCH 1, 8:45 A.M.: Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Stanton Tuesday afternoon.
A report of shots fired sent Orange County sheriff’s deputies to the area of Dale and Lola avenues around 3:30 p.m.
They found a man in his 20s lying on the sidewalk near West Ravenswood Drive, where the fellow expired despite life-saving efforts.
