The Great Food Truck Race winner The Lime Truck opened its first OC brick-and-mortar at Irvine Spectrum in Fall of 2014 called TLT Food. This was after it opened a brick-and-mortar in Westwood in 2012 and after the TLT Food in Downtown LA closed in August of 2014.
Now this year, TLT Food will open a new restaurant in Newport Beach at The Bluffs Shopping Center, next to Daphne’s and across from Chipotle. The space used to be Mozambique Peri Peri—the fast-casual arm of Laguna Beach’s Mozambique restaurant—which closed last August.
I would guess that the menu will be the same as the other TLT’s, with sandwiches such as the beef short rib sliders, tacos such as the pork belly adobo, and a section called “The Goods” with rice bowls, carnitas fries and spicy sambal wings.
Like all the other TLT Foods, beer and wine will also be available.
Daniel Shemtob (one of TLT’s founders and original The Lime Truck owner) and Company is also slated to open a TLT in Pasadena next to the Pasadena Playhouse.
