You know who loves a celebration? We do! Everybody’s in good spirits, and you can bet delicious food will be involved. That’s what you can expect all weekend long, as The Beach Barrel in Newport celebrates its first anniversary.
Since Friday is when most of us start partying, swing by for their first giveaway: A slice of their BBQ chicken pizza. The first 40 to dine will be treated. With your belly ready to absorb some shots, now you can start that bar crawl. Saturday’s treat features one of our favorites: chili cheese fries featuring Ochoa’s spicy chorizo! It also happens to be National Chili Day, so if you’re one of the first 30 to order, you technically multi-tasked.
Lastly, jerk chicken slices are on the hangover agenda if you stop in on Sunday. Be one of the first 40, and lunch is covered. Why does all this grub sound so comforting? Maybe because it was founded by two people who know their beach eats. Green Room surf shop owner Mac Carlson and former Midnight Muncheez delivery service owner Jared Jones co-own The Beach Barrel. Doors open at noon on all three days, so set your alarm and come hungry.
The Beach Barrel is located at 3305 Newport Blvd, (949) 531-6222; www.thebeachbarrel.com.
