If you've ever had one of those weeks where everything seemed a little random, then you're on the same wavelength as us right now. Award nominations, a brunch pop-up, a sweet Olympic viewing spot and our (practically expected) beer festival round out this week's things to get acquainted with. So without further ado . . .
Golden Foodie Awards
The nomination process began last week for this annual awards ceremony, highlighting the creative talent in Orange County. Show some support for your favorite eateries by submitting their name for the ballot. This week's featured categories include: Best Service, Best Seafood, Best Californian Cuisine, Best Mediterranean Cuisine, Best Burger, Best Beer Selection and Best Food Influencer. Send a shout out to the places and people who get the job done and type in that name for our voting consideration later this month!
Huntington Beach Beer FestivalÂ
The poster says it all. $35 gets you unlimited tastings for three hours. AC/DC tribute band Noise Pollution will be rocking out with Weezerton and DJ Luca. This pairing of good tunes and a great deal of beer mean one heck of a Saturday!
Rhythm & Brunch at Mansion – Costa Mesa
The group behind successful luxe lonchera Ninjas With Appetite is slowly expanding into brunchtime eats. Their alter ego, The Batter House, was spotted inside Mansion Costa Mesa on Sunday afternoon rolling out dishes such as banana cakes in Grand Marnier butter a la mode and a hefty Spam Benedict. Follow them on social media to learn about the next Sunday they plan to pop-up.
Olympics viewing at The Iron Press – Anaheim and Costa Mesa
Fun marketing ploy or an excuse to choose from 30 taps of beer? We say BOTH. Come in sporting Team USA attire, and your brews will be priced a la Happy Hour— regardless of what time it is! Stop waffling and grab a seat at the counter to catch all the sports at both locations.
