A 15-year-old Santa Ana boy was killed in an apparent gang-related shooting Friday night.
The Orange County coroner identified the deceased as Henry Plascencia.
He died around 10:05 p.m. at South Coast Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, the coroner said.
Plascencia and another teen boy were standing on a sidewalk near 429 S. Birch St. about 9:30 p.m., when someone fired multiple shots at them, according to Santa Ana Police.
A single gunshot ripped into Plascencia's upper torso, say police, who added the second, unidentified boy was also wounded and sent to the same hospital, where he was treated and released.
No suspect information has been given and no arrests have been made, according to police, who say they believe the shooting was gang-related.
