The holidays have officially descended upon us. Sink your teeth into our upcoming events and opportunities to give back. We bet someone ambitious can knock all these out in the next week, but that's just us.
Farrell's Holiday Giving Program – Brea location only
While best known for ice cream and their recent appearance on The Profit, Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor is a community supporter as well. Stop by their Downtown Brea location this Saturday with the above flyer printed to donate towards the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California (SCDFC). They'll also be accepting new toys, clothing and non-perishable foods between the hours of 1-5 p.m. Raffle items, Snapchat filters and insane desserts await. SCDFC provides items to over 100 families each year affected by this inherited blood disease.
French Art And Music Fair at Moulin – Newport Beach
Make time on Sunday for a little culture off Bristol as Moulin invites you to enjoy classic dishes, sip on wine and mingle with musicians and artists. The party goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there is no fee to attend. If you believe in magic, Moulin is where you can find a little this weekend.
Food Finders Holiday Food Drive – Through December 31
While it is always a good time to donate time and resources, the holidays are when those struggling to support themselves and their families need it the most. Although the food drive is based in Long Beach, all surrounding communities are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items. Monetary donations are also welcome, as a $25 donation can feed two families for Thanksgiving. A packing and sorting event is scheduled the weekend of November 18, with volunteers needed the next day to assist with delivery. To donate and/or volunteer, please call (562) 283-1400, extension 101.
Coming Soon: Taps & Tastes at Skyloft – Laguna Beach
Scheduled for the second Wednesday each month, these pairing dinners will feature a rotation of popular breweries. For $55, treat yourself to the six-course meal and this month's inaugural featured selection from Stone Brewing Company. Chef Arthur Ortiz has dishes lined up such as gumbo, fried green tomatoes and black cherry glazed ribs. Call for reservations on November 9 at (949) 715-1550.
