A former Saddleback Valley Unified School District child care worker was sentenced today to 27 years to life in state prison for molesting two boys in the program and sexually assaulting a third he was babysitting.
Scott Andrew Christensen, 29, of Rancho Santa Margarita, had been convicted in April 2008 for the crimes against the 6-year-old he'd babysat, but prosecutors would not win convictions until last month for the victims from the day care where the man worked for six years.

Jurors deadlocked in the first trial on counts involving the boys from the day care, but Christensen was convicted at retrial on March 15.

The mother of one victim told Orange County Superior Court Judge Gary Paer today that her son continues to have problems trusting adults and that she just hopes he was so young he'll forget what happened to him, City News Service reports. “Scott Christensen is a predator in every sense of the word and deserves the strictest of consequences,' she reportedly said.
The mother of another boy said her son constantly asks if Christensen will ever get out of jail. “My promise to him is to make sure that never happens,'' she is reported to have said. “As we all know, this sickness can never be cured.''
