There's been a slew of new Mediterranean eateries invading our southern borders lately. Luna Grill, a San Diego-based chain that calls itself a “kabobery,” opened not just one but two locations recently (Irvine and Lake Forest). Then there's Taverna Blu, which is technically Greek. They opened in Irvine Spectrum last year.

Now there's a Denver-based chain called “Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill” that will open its first OC location in Aliso Viejo this week (26541 Aliso Creek Rd.
Aliso Viejo, CA 92656). Their menu offers falafel, dolmas, and meals built around pitas or laffas. Another location is slated for Irvine's Woodbury neighborhood, and the company that has the franchise rights will develop around 10 more in Orange County in the future.
