Festival season is well upon us, and with that comes Irvine's 35th annual Greek Fest, held at Saint Paul's Greek Orthodox Church. Friday kicks off the three-day cultural extravaganza with a church sanctuary tour and a spirited performance from Saint Paul's Youth Greek Dancers. The rest of the weekend includes cooking demonstrations, folk dance lessons, shopping, live music, kids' activities, raffles, prizes, wine, food, food and more food (gyros, dolmathes, spanakopita, baklava, loukaniko, a bunch of pastries we can't even pronounce!). So gather family, friends, neighbors and anyone else around and head to Irvine for a day of dancing, eating, drinking and cheering. Because if one thing is absolutely certain: the Greek know how to throw a good party.
