Ted Nugent
The City National Grove of Anaheim
Going to see a Ted Nugent concert is like nothing you've ever experienced. Whether you're witnessing some of the most insane acrobatics on Earth to the shredding to “Cat Scratch Fever,” the heat of some of the biggest concert pyrotechnics ever done, or some sharp, anti-Obama stage banter someone can spew, there really is no one quite like the Nuge. During his run of California dates, OC's Grove of Anaheim welcomes the Motor City Mad Man with open arms.

Alan Jackson
Pacific Amphitheatre
What better way to welcome the county fair then one of the biggest, longest standing country music artist like Alan Jackson? Nothing like some flag-waving country music to cap off a day of farm animal petting zoos and an endless bonanza of fried food.. Don't be afraid to bust out your ten-gallon hat and cowboy boots, You might get confused with some of the 4-H members in charge of the caring of the animals but at least you don't have to feel completely isolated by your attire like you would anywhere else in Costa Mesa. If you missed the Stagecoach festival in Indio this year, this concert is next best thing.

The B-52's
Pacific Amphetheatre
1980's new wave giants The B-52's are coming to the Pacific Amphitheatre to play some quirkiest pop songs ever recorded. Their biggest hit “Rock Lobster” has to be one of the strangest songs that are still played on the radio today. In 1978 when the song came out, they became an underground success. Following the single the band signed to Warner Brothers records and went on to write and record iconic albums like Wild Planet and Whammy. Opening the show is OC Weekly columnist Exene's Cervenka, who takes the stage with her band X. As a major player in the formation of the early LA punk scene, X is one of the few bands from that time that are still as bad ass as ever.
HRVRD
Chain Reaction
Charlotte North Caroina band HRVRD (pronounced Harvard) are joining up with Los Angeles band Silver Snakes in a West Coast tour making a stop this Thursday at Chain Reaction in Anaheim. HRVRD is a post-rock band that makes highly produced and intensely experimental guitar based rock music. There style is very comparable to the Mars Volta or Circa Survive. The opening act, Silver Snakes, is a more local and one of the true highlights of the night. With Alex Estrada who runs Earth Capital studio on vocals for the band their sound is carefully crafted in post-hardcore. Estrada has produced some of the biggest albums in the genre including Touche Amore's To The Beat of a Dead Horse and debut Joyce Manor's self-titled album.
